SALMAT 25 Kayanga Parish Netball and Football Tournaments 2020

Continuing to empower the community of Kayanga parish in Mityana district, SALMAT 25 is organising  netball and football tournaments to be participated in by the 5 villages (Kayanga, Lusalira, Kitwe, Butayunja & Singa) that make up Kayanga parish. Under the theme Pass on the Wisdom, the tournament is aiming to unite the 5 villages to address the challenges of Teenage pregnancies, Early marriages and child neglect that are affecting both the girl and boy child in Kayanga parish. 

Research done during the Covid 19 season indicates there`s a high increase in teenage pregnancies, early marriages and child neglect, due to among the reasons is family breakdown. So through these tournaments, SALMAT 25 is increasing awareness and encouraging the community to unite and fight this kind of plague eating up the community. 

Qualifying games are yet to begin and finals are to be held on 11th and 12th December 2020 at the Lusalira football ground.
